At Scripture Link, we value your trust and are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the Scripture Link Google Workspace Add-on and our associated services.
1. Disclosure of Google User Data Access
To provide our core functionality, Scripture Link requests access to specific Google user data via the following scopes:
- .../auth/documents.currentonly: Used to insert and format selected Bible verses directly into your active Google Doc. We do not access any other documents in your Google Drive.
- .../auth/datastore & .../auth/script.external_request: Used to securely communicate with our Google Firestore database to fetch Bible translation text and metadata requested by you.
- .../auth/userinfo.email & .../auth/userinfo.profile: Used to identify you and manage your personal notes or translation preferences within the add-on.
2. Google API Limited Use Disclosure
Scripture Link's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not use your Google user data to serve advertisements, and we do not sell or transfer this data to third parties for any purpose other than providing and improving the core features of the add-on.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Document Content: We do not read, copy, or store the full contents of your Google Docs. Our access is strictly limited to the "Insert" function. Your writing remains private and is never harvested or stored on our servers.
- Persistent Tracking: We do not track your activity outside of the Scripture Link sidebar interactions.
4. Information We Collect & How We Use It
- Account Information: We store your email address and name to sync your personal "Notes" and "Favorites" across different documents.
- User-Generated Content: Any notes or highlights you create are stored securely in our Google Firestore database.
- Technical Logs: We collect anonymized usage data (e.g., which translations are most popular) to improve our search indexing and system performance.
5. Third-Party Services
- Google Cloud & Firestore: We use Google’s secure infrastructure to host our service. Your data is protected by professional-grade encryption both at rest and in transit.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
You have the right to access, export, or delete your personal data (including notes) at any time. If you uninstall the add-on, your temporary session data is cleared. To request a permanent deletion of your stored notes and account info, please contact us at support@scripturelink.co.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be announced via our website or through a notification within the Scripture Link sidebar in Google Docs.
